First I'd like to say how thankful I am to live in Incline Village. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I am also equally thankful for the people who live here, they are very caring, considerate and feel like family. I hope to live here the rest of my life. Some voters have expressed some concern over the fact that my house sold, fortunately I get to live in my house until escrow closes on my new house which is 2 blocks from Burnt Cedar Beach. Its a better location and I am scheduled to move July 1st of this year.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: I have a Masters degree from UCLA. I am retired from a life-long Registered Nurse career that included working as a Branch Manager of a Home Health Agency and running my own wound care management business. I am currently a trustee of two Nevada Family Trusts, which I manage. Even though I have no board experience, I have supervision and over-site experience from my years as a branch manager. Then I have excellent financial business skills that were developed from established and running my own business. I also supported the recommendations of the audit committee this year, they were basic accounting recommendations, including using the same format for reporting. Unfortunately they were not instituted.
I am very involved in our community. I am a volunteer at a local church, at Incline Elementary for the Great News Club, and I volunteer for goose patrol with my dog Mel. I'm also a member of a local women's club and the veteran's club. I have attended CAB meetings, TRPA meetings and TTD meetings. I have written letters and voiced safety concerns regarding using the Old Elementary School as a bus hub.
- I am committed to be a representative for the residents in Incline Village and Crystal Bay, and I need to hear from you! I will vote on behalf of the residents and on behalf of the environment.
-I am committed to bringing people together. I believe that everyone wants to make IVGID better and that we can come together and discuss issues in a positive and constructive way. I will be a leader that makes this happen.
-I am committed to solving LONG-TERM PROBLEMS that effect the environment like the leaking wastewater effluent 21 mile pipeline which conveys treated wastewater from Sweetwater to Carson Valley. Leaks started approx. 19 yrs ago. The current project is in the design phase to repair or replace the pipeline that was built in 1970. Completion of this project is urgent, due to multiple leaks every month, cost of clean up and the potential for damage to the environment.
-I am also committed to maintain and upgrade venues and infrastructure as needed.
-I am committed to transparency and consistent processes in fiscal reporting. Just to clarify, the Audit Committee's Recommendations were presented earlier this year and what was presented was basic business accounting 101 principals.
-I am committed to being a part of the solution to solve beach overcrowding. I agree with the current board, in that we need to follow the beach deed. At the May 26th IVGID meeting, they addressed beach overcrowding and I believe that it was a good start. Each property now gets 5 cards (picture pass or punch cards), plus and additional 3 punch cards and if they need them for their family tree-they can purchase another 3 cards. Although the maximum is 10 cards total. I was happy to hear that IVGID will re-evaluate beach overcrowding after the summer is over. I am also hoping for improvement this year. If more improvement is needed, the IVGID Board will have another opportunity to work on the problem. If I win one of the 2 open seats on the IVGID board, I will recommend a thorough evaluation of beach overcrowding and appropriate solutions.
As I said before, I am committed to being a part of the solution to solve this problem.
-Another issue that people are upset about are STRs. One concept that we need to look at, is how can Incline Village attract the right type of visitors? Visitors that pick up their trash and show respect to Incline Village residents, by limiting noise. I have always believed that self governance is the best and I am hopeful that this would help. For those who want more opposition to STRs that are unhosted or where the host is more than 5 ninutes away, there is one other road. Just to be clear, because I am running for IVGID trustee-I will not be involved with this endeavor. It basically involves going through the process and getting a local or county measure on our ballot.
-Lastly I have no friends that are developers and I plan to keep it that way. If I don't, and I become an IVGID board member-I might have to recuse myself from voting, (in the event that the developer brings a request forward). BTW I have been contacted by a developer, as all the other IVGID candidates have. I refused to meet with him and I'm the only IVGID candidate that did not meet with him. As I said before, I will be a representative for the people and I will vote for their benefit and for the benefit of the environment.
I support and uphold the US Constitution as written. I value our military, veterans, first responders, businesses, students and the elderly. Lastly, I believe in the saying: "Do Justice, Love Mercy and Walk Humbly. . . " , from the Book of Micah.

PS. I have had people asking questions about my mother Jenny. She passed away from end stage Alzheimer's disease in 2021 on my father's birthday. So now she is not only with Jesus, but she is with my dad in heaven. They are buried together at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery. Thanks to everyone who have been concerned about her.
